Insah Iddrisu
Insah Iddrisu is currently a Project Manager at BIGA in charge of overseeing the professional execution of assigned projects to the satisfaction of BIGA clients.
He is a Civil Engineer from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana where he graduated with a Second Class Upper Division. Insah Iddrisu also has a Masters in Energy Studies with Specialization in Energy and the Environment from the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK where he graduated with a Distinction.
He previously worked as General Manager of Programs at the Millennium Excellence Foundation (MEF) designing, developing and coordinating the implementation of special initiatives by the Foundation. The cardinal program he developed under his portfolio was the National Districts Awards (NDA), an accelerated districts development stimulus (ADDS) package designed in collaboration with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and UNICEF to promote self-led local governance among all the 261 districts in Ghana.
Prior to this, he worked as the General Manager for DICO Systems, a local Ghanaian entity that engineered automated sanitization chambers to reduce the spread of the disease during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ghana.
Mr. Iddrisu also worked with Deen Petroleum Ghana Limited, a Bulk Oil Distribution Company in various capacities. He was first employed as Business Development Manager from March 2013 until October 2014 when he was nominated to act as Caretaker CEO by the company Board for the then CEO to pursue an Oil Block upstream; a role he occupied until February 2016. Under his management, the company’s financial fortunes improved tremendously in value leading to the handing over of a very positive position. He was then handed a group role to work towards developing a retail arm as Group Business Development Manager. In his latter years with the company, Mr. Iddrisu was again assigned the role of Liaison for Legacy Debt Settlement between the company, Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors and creditor banks which was resolved amicably between all parties in March 2020.
Mr. Iddrisu is not only experienced in business management but is also good in research and analysis. His unique approach to issues and ability to add value led to the publishing of both his research paper and dissertation on ScienceDirect, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews Volume 43, March 2015, Pages 32-39 and Volume 50, October 2015, Pages 513-530 respectively) upon completion of his Masters.
He won several performance awards at Oando Ghana Limited where he previously worked as Civil Engineer and EHSQ Officer. He was later promoted to the position of Operations Officer and was the first Ghanaian to appear on the internal magazine of Oando Plc Group, Nigeria in recognition of the huge savings he made for the company.
Insah Iddrisu had previously held the position of Assistant Civil Engineer at Delin Consult where he did Technical Site Survey and site analysis for the development of communication cell sites for Millicom Ghana Ltd (Tigo) and Celtel. Before then, he had worked in a similar position for the Ghana Highways Authority as National Service Personnel where he analyzed road traffic data from across the country for the Planning Division of the Authority.
He is quite versatile and able to adapt to different working environments without compromising on his professional and personal principles of integrity, teamwork and efficiency. He has about 13 years accumulated working experience across different sectors in Ghana.
