Richard has 12 years post qualification experience as a Civil Engineer largely in the branch of Structural Engineering and appreciative Construction management practice. He has indepth knowledge of the industry and has led several mega projects across the country for various Government agencies District Assemblies, educational & religious institutions and private individuals including being the resident engineer in charge of the construction of 10 number 2- storey dormitory blocks and road networks for senior high schools in the Ashanti Region and the Ghana-ACROW and Ghana- Spanish bridges in Ashanti Region. He was a key member of the engineering team for the Design, Supervision and project management of the Urban Poverty Reduction Projects (UPRP) under the Social Investment Fund (SIF) in three project locations (Agona Swedru, Kasoa and Apam) in the Central Region of Ghana.
Mr. Okyere has significant knowledge in computer applications for civil and structural analysis, design and detailing.
He was the Civil/structural engineer in charge of the construction of 14 storey head office building and multi-storey car park for CalBank. He recently designed the 15-storey Ghana Maritime Authority Head office at Ridge Accra. He has consulted for Golden Exotic, Devtraco Plus, Imperial Homes, Apolonia and several other real estate and housing companies in Ghana.
Presently he is the HEAD of Works and Physical development, College of Technology Education-UEW-Kumasi.
