Asamoah
Over the years, Edmund Kwabena Asamoah has always been known for his passion, drive, hard work and leadership. He was born in Kumasi, Ghana, and spent the early part of his childhood in Nigeria, Switzerland and the UK. He completed his primary education in Nigeria and continued with his secondary education at boarding schools in the UK. Edmund completed his tertiary education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BS in Finance and BA in History.
He started his career as a financial software professional specializing in Enterprise Resource Planning (Oracle and Peoplesoft) for over ten years for fortune 500 companies in the United States, serving in diverse positions as a consultant, business analyst, software developer and project manager.
He setup an IT company with business partners to provide these services and widened the scope of the business to include other technology services, expanding the business into Ghana. As his involvement grew in the real estate business, he sold the IT business to streamline his focus and moved back to Ghana permanently.
Edmund as co-founder and Managing Director of A&C Development Co Ltd was instrumental in the growth of the company and developing the concept and implementation of the first shopping mall in Ghana, A&C Mall. Over the years, he evolved A&C Mall into one of the first mixed use developments to remain competitive and continue as a market leader in the industry by developing office plazas and boutique retail centres.
MyGetaway Group was developed in 2012 as a diversification into the hospitality and tourism industry. Over the last six years, the company has land banked over 300 acres of titled beach, mountain, and lake assets for its developments. MyGoi Beach Resort, a 22-acre development, will be the first of its kind in Ghana.
Edmund has over 12 years’ experience of commercial, hotel and residential real estate development and construction projects in Ghana worth over US$50 million. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in senior management and consulting roles.
Edmund has always believed in a first mover approach by finding the opportunity that no one else is looking at. He believes there are ample business opportunities in Ghana/West Africa and is excited at the potential Ghana has to offer.
